Greetings, friends! Thank you for stopping by and checking out the project!
At this point, you are probably wondering to yourself 'who created it' and (more importantly) 'what is it all about'? In answer to these two basic questions, I am hoping that this post will shed some light on what is happening, over here, in this little musical haven on the interweb.
My name is Kate Thornton and I love music.
Music was always apart of my childhood from early school days of playing the piano, the recorder or the percussion instruments, to lip singing to The Beach Boys (and other classic groups) in my best-friend's living room, or to joining the youth church choir at my church. In my teen years, I started playing the alto-saxophone and joined the high-school band. I enjoyed all these experiences very much.
I can never pick just one genre over another as my favourite style of music. My parents exposed me to all sorts of different musical styles as a child. I can remember my Father giving me Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album for Christmas one year. It was my first cassette and I would play it on my Fisher Price tape recorder, from side A to side B, non-stop. At the same time, they would take me to classical Baroque concerts downtown, where I would sit and draw to the music. This gave me a great sense of open-mindedness when it comes to musical tastes.
Genres that I prefer today are jazz, classic rock, blues, hip hop and singer-songwriter, but that is not to say that I also don't have a strong appreciation for rock, pop and classical music as well.
The Anteup Audio Comm website is my design. I created it to celebrate artists and musicians from around the world who promote creative and positive thinking through music.
What does this mean, exactly, to you as the reader?
Because I like so many different styles, I often find that what I listen to is greatly dependent on my mood at the time. In studying my music collection, recently, I discovered that not only do I have Mahler symphonies next to my Springsteen albums, but that I also get a feeling of being uplifted by my most played music. This is usually because it has some sort of positive message to it or it makes you think.
What I want for the purpose of this site, is to share and promote with you, the music that I enjoy. So, please come along for the ride. Follow my activities and blog updates here and on Twitter as I find it. Play it. Share it.
